Toxnet Award Presented to Mirko Filippetti

During the symposium at ISPRM 2026, Toxnet introduced its inaugural award, recognising contributions to education and collaboration in spasticity management.

The first award was presented to Miko Filippetti in recognition of his strong and consistent contribution across clinical practice, research and education.

Selected following review by multiple experts, Mirko was the top-ranked candidate, with consistently high scores across key areas including clinical practice, research and publications, and education and mentorship. His work reflects extensive experience in managing complex spasticity patients and a comprehensive, multimodal approach to care. He is also recognised for his broader impact within the field and his leadership within the clinical community.

The award was presented by Gerard Francisco and Thierry Deltombe, co-chairs of Toxnet, in honour of Susanna Moraleda, who passed away in 2022. The award recognises her lasting contribution to the Toxnet initiative and her role as a valued colleague within the network, helping to foster a collaborative and educational approach in the field.

The introduction of the Toxnet Award reflects the importance of recognising both individual contributions and the shared commitment that underpins progress in spasticity management.
