Biography

For the past 20 years, Michael W. O’Dell, M.D. has been a Clinical Professor in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine and Attending Physician at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York City. Dr. O’Dell is internationally known for his clinical expertise, research and education in neurological rehabilitation.

After earning an MD from Indiana University School of Medicine, he completed a PM&R residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and a Brain Injury and Trauma Rehabilitation fellowship at Mediplex-Rehabilitation. He is the author of over 75 peer-reviewed papers and has garnered over $3.1 million in philanthropic and industry funded research.

He formerly served on the editorial boards of both the Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the Journal of Head Trauma Rehabilitation. He is a past member of the AAPM&R Board of Governors and directed the effort to establish the Program for Academic Leadership within the AAP. Dr. O’Dell is actively involved in resident and medical student education at Weill Cornell Medical Center.

CLINICAL

  • Evidence of development or growth of a spasticity program at the applicant’s practice or institution
