Professor Thierry Deltombe is co-chair of the Toxnet group. He is the head of the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation department at the CHU UCL Namur site Godinne of the well-known Université de Louvain (UCL) in Belgium.

Biography

Professor Thierry Deltombe is the head of the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation department at the CHU UCL Namur site Godinne of the well-known Université de Louvain (UCL) in Belgium. He is an active member of the Belgian PM&R board and of the European Academy of Rehabilitation Medicine.

For 20 years, he is the head of an interdisciplinary group devoted to the spasticity treatment. The group also includes a neurosurgeon (Prof. T. Gustin), two orthopaedic surgeons (Dr. R. Amon and D. Wautier), an anaesthesist (Dr. M. Fostier), a neurologist (Dr M. Ossemann) and a rehab team. He published several papers dealing with spasticity assessement (diagnostic nerve block) and treatments (botulinum toxin and neurotomy) with a special interest for the spastic foot.

CLINICAL

  • Evidence of development or growth of a spasticity program at the applicant’s practice or institution
  • Breadth of services provided, including medications, toxins, physical interventions, and Intrathecal Baclofen Therapy (ITB)
  • Role of responsibility in managing patients with spasticity
