Dr. Monica Verduzco-Gutierrez is a renowned academic Physiatrist and Professor and Distinguished Chair of the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at the Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio. She also serves as the Chief of the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Service Line at the University Health Hospital system and the Medical Director of Neurorehabilitation at Warm Springs Rehabilitation Hospitals.

Dr. Gutierrez is a recognized leader in spasticity management, with extensive clinical experience in treating patients with spasticity-related conditions, including brain injury, stroke, and spinal cord injury. She has published extensively on spasticity and other movement disorders and leads clinical trials focused on innovative interventions in this area. Dr. Gutierrez is passionate about educating medical professionals and patients on the comprehensive care of spasticity and its impact on quality of life.

She is a fellow of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and serves on the Board of Trustees for the Association of Academic Physiatrists. Dr. Gutierrez is committed to advancing the field of spasticity management through evidence-based practice, advocacy, and education.
